Hierarchy of Learning Elements

Within EKP learning elements (Learning modules, learning programs and catalogs) are arranged in the following hierarchy:

• Catalogs: a catalog may contain one or more learning programs

• Learning Programs: a learning program may contain one or more learning modules

• Learning Modules and Learning Objects

A rich variety of Learning Module and Learning Object types may be entered into the catalog:

• On-line Modules, which represent web-based courses that can be completely delivered over the Intranet/Internet;

• Classroom Modules, for regularly scheduled classroom events;

• External Course Modules, for classes outside your organization;

• Workshops / Seminars

• Virtual Classroom Modules, for those class sessions taught over the web in real-time, with instructor/student communication throughout the session;

• Books;

• CDs;

• Videos;

• Audio cassettes;

• External Certification;

• Just-in-time learning.

Each learning object may be assigned to one or more catalogs or restricted to specific groups of users.
